On the afternoon of September 25th, Neville Wylie, Deputy Principal of the University of Stirling, and his 3-person delegation visited Dalian University of Technology. Luo Zhongxuan, Vice President of DUT, along with heads of relevant departments such as International Office, Graduate School, warmly welcomed the guests in room 312 of the main building. After the meeting, Neville Wylie and his delegation visited School of Economics and Management to discuss mutual exchange and cooperation. Dean Ye Xin, Assistant Dean Xu Zhaoguang, and administrative staff from International Cooperation and Accreditation Office participated in the discussion.
Dean Ye Xin reviewed the cooperation and exchange between SEM and UOS since the signing of the joint training program (Master's Dual Degree) agreement in 2022, as well as the School’s educational characteristics. He hopes to establish more sustained and in-depth cooperation between the two schools in the future. He stated that DUT SEM will leverage its disciplinary advantages, focus on "Smart Digital + Economics and Management", and create a unique competitive edge. The School will actively create an international learning and exchange platform for teachers and students, cooperate deeply with UOS, and explore and promote new paths for the development of degree education cooperation.
Deputy Principal Neville Wylie introduced UOS’ subject ranking, enrollment scale, and cooperation and exchange with Chinese universities, with a focus on its diversified training models and practical teaching characteristics. He hopes that teachers and students of DUT SEM will visit UOS and persue their studies, strengthen cooperation between two universities, carry out joint training, and co-cultivate outstanding talents with an international perspective.
Assistant Dean Xu Zhaoguang and Robert Webb, Associate Dean of Global Engagement at UOS School of Management, respectively introduced Schools’ disciplinary characteristics, talent cultivation, and faculty. Both sides discussed English course teaching, scientific research cooperation, etc. and reached a consensus on further deepening cooperation in the future. Both sides look forward to conducting deeper and substantive cooperation through various means such as joint student training, joint scientific research, lectures by overseas distinguished professors, continuously improving the quality and level of talent cultivation.
