The Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China has recently announced the list of award-winning achievements in the Ninth Award for Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements for Higher Education Institutions (Humanities and Social Sciences). Dalian University of Technology was awarded three research accomplishments in the field of humanities and social sciences. Among them, Professor Sun Yutao from School of Economics and Management was awarded the first prize for his work, "China and Global Value Chains: Globalization and the Information and Communications Technology Sector", marking the university's inaugural occasion of receiving the highest-level and most influential award in the field of humanities and social sciences in China.
The Award for Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements for Higher Education Institutions (Humanities and Social Sciences) aims to recognize and reward outstanding achievements of scholars in philosophy and social sciences within higher education, showcase significant theoretical and practical results that serve the development of the cause of the Party and the nation, and promote the establishment of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics. As the most dependable, influential, and representative national-level award for achievements in humanities and social sciences research in China, this award represents the highest honor in humanities and social science research in Chinese Higher Education Institutions.
