Since 1980, School of Economics and Management, as a national training base for middle and senior economic and management personnel after China's reform and opening up, has trained economic and management executives for the governments, enterprises and public institutions for decades. It has laid a solid foundation for the vigorous development of modern management education in China. Among the alumni, there are a large number of management education masters, the founders of management discipline and the influential figures of the reform.
There are more than 40.000 outstanding alumni in different industries and regions, including undergraduate, master' s, and doctoral students, MBA, EMBA, MEM students, as well as EDP students and teaching staff.
Among them are leading Party and government officials represented by Wang Zhaoguo and Wen Shizhen, business management experts represented by Ni Runfeng, former alternate member of the Central Committee and Chairman of Changhong Group, Feng Danlong, who spoke passionately to U.S. senators in the U.S. Congress to fight for granting China permanent normal trade relations, Meng Qingjin, Director of the Beijing Museum of National History,who published two academic papers in Nature, Zhang Hongxia, the Head of the world's largest cotton textile enterprise, Fu Wanjun, the President of the Agricultural Bank of China, Wang Xinhao, the Vice President of the head office of Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, and so on, who demonstrated the talent and professionalism of the alumni in different ways.
Since 2019, School of Economics and Management has received more than 6.5 million yuan in donations. The Shuren Project was initiated by the alumni of the School in 2019 and co-sponsored by Academician Wang Zongtuo and Professor Deng Wenzhu, who donated 500,000 yuan as the first crowdfunding project. More than 700 alumni actively participated in the project. The total donation has reached more than 2.6 million yuan by the end of 2022, mainly for rewarding teachers and students who engage in cross-disciplinary research with remarkable results. Duxing Project was established in 2021 with a donation of 3 million yuan from alumni, which mainly supports students to participate in social practice and the construction of the China Management Case-sharing Center, etc.
